A calculator with your firm's name on it

The branded licence puts one of our calculators on your website with your firm name, your colour, your own call-to-action button and the starting figures your clients usually need. The maths, the tax rules and the updates stay with us. The free embed is still free and always will be.

Price

Buy a licence

Build your calculator

Try it first: the preview shows your branding straight away, no licence needed. When you are happy, paste your licence key and copy the code.

Up to 40 characters. Shown above the calculator.

Format #rrggbb. Leave blank for Calcistry's colours. Very light colours are darkened for text so it stays readable.

Your button

Up to 30 characters. Replaces “Open full tool →”.

Must start with https://. With no link, the widget shows no button.

Up to 60 characters.

Starting values (optional)

Leave a box empty to keep our default. Visitors can still change every figure.

Optional. It tells your visitors where the figures come from; untick to hide it.

From your Gumroad receipt email. It goes into the code below, not into the preview.

Live preview

Add your licence key above. Without a valid key the code shows the normal free calculator.

Paste into a Custom HTML or Embed block, once per page. The calculator sizes itself.

What's included

How it works

  1. Buy a licence on Gumroad (£79 a year, one website). At checkout, enter the website domain where you will use the calculator, for example yourfirm.co.uk.
  2. Your licence key arrives by email straight after payment.
  3. Paste the key into the builder above and set your name, colour, button and values.
  4. Copy the code into your site. That's it.

Each time the calculator loads, the visitor's browser asks Gumroad whether the key is active (only the key is sent) and remembers the answer for up to a day. The branding appears on the website named at checkout and its subdomains. If the key is not active, or the calculator is on a different website, the same code simply shows the free calculator, so your page never breaks.

Questions

How many websites does one licence cover?

One. You can use any number of calculators on that website. For a second website, or for client sites if you are an agency, buy a licence for each.

Which website does the licence work on?

Enter the website where you will use the calculator at checkout; the licence works on that site (and its subdomains, such as www. or blog.). If you move to a new domain, email us and we will help.

The licence checks which website the calculator is on. If your site sets a strict no-referrer policy, allow the referrer for calcistry.com or the calculator shows the free version.

How is payment handled? Can I get a refund?

Gumroad handles payment and any VAT. No refunds for part-years, except where the law requires.

What happens if I cancel?

You can cancel any time from your Gumroad account. Your branding keeps working until the end of the year you have paid for, then the code automatically shows the free calculator instead. Nothing on your site breaks and there is nothing to remove.

Who keeps the figures up to date?

We do. When tax rates, thresholds or allowances change, we update the calculators and your embed picks up the change on its own. Each calculator's full page shows its sources and when it was last reviewed.

Is it financial advice?

No. The calculators give educational estimates based on the figures entered and the assumptions stated. They are not financial, tax or mortgage advice, and your branding does not change that. If you are a regulated firm, check your own rules on how you present tools like this to clients.

You are responsible for any risk warnings your regulator requires next to the calculator (for example a mortgage repossession warning). The mortgage and rent-vs-buy calculators can show the standard repossession warning: tick the box in the builder.

Can I change the maths or the wording of the results?

No. You can change the name, colour, button, heading and starting values. The calculations and result text stay as they are, so we can keep every copy correct.

Will the free version stay free?

Yes. The free embed on our embed page stays free for any site, with an optional credit link. The licence is only for firms that want their own branding.

Does it track my visitors?

No. The calculator runs in the visitor's browser and the numbers they type are not sent to us. The only outside request is the licence check to Gumroad, which carries the licence key. See our privacy policy and terms.
